News from Pastor Dianne & Church Council

To my beloved Conway Community,

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

In the recent weeks, we have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.  According to CDC the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. As a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, such as avoiding close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth and most importantly remember to wash your hands with soap and wash for at least 20 seconds.

We intend to take the recommendations of the CDC seriously, therefore we will take every necessary precaution to ensure your safety. The latest update from the CDC today discourages gatherings of 50 or more. In light of the most recent update and earlier recommendations, the leadership of Conway met and decided that because our congregation is comprised of some of the most vulnerable groups, the best way to keep our congregants safe and healthy is to Suspend Sunday worship and small group activities on and off campus effective now through March 31. This includes small group studies at various homes. In addition, Dinner Church will also be suspended during this time.  The campus will be closed, which includes the Administration Office.  We will re-assess planned gatherings and related activities near the end of the month.

We recognize the need for continual spiritual enrichment opportunities and information. Therefore we are offering the following:

·        A sermon will be live-streamed via Facebook and posted on the website each Sunday.

·        A written manuscript of the sermon will be posted on our website for the deaf ministry.

·        Daily updates will be posted on our website and Facebook.

·        Office Staff will work remotely from home.

·        In case of an emergency the Pastor can be reached at 410-726-6017 or

·        In case of building emergencies you may contact Clark Getz at 407-222-2846 or at

It is important to be continually enabled to do God’s work in the Church and in the community!  There are several alternative ways to continue giving while the church undergoes this temporary shutdown.  Our website,, has information about “Online Giving” on the bottom right of the main screen.  Just click the blue “Online Giving” button on your screen to get started.  You may wish to set up a monthly automatic allotment through your bank or a simple one time amount.

If you know of someone who does not have access to a computer, please pass along this and any updates or crucial information.

Remember a normal reaction may be to panic during these most unprecedented times. “For such a time as this”, we are called to demonstrate extravagant love to our neighbors, especially those working in the grocery stores, health care centers and  our first responders.

Finally, as Christian believers, let us not allow this pandemic or any other crisis to invoke fear, panic, worry, or anxiety within. From II Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.” However, should you feel a little anxious or overwhelmed, I would encourage you to meditate, pray, and study God’s word. Suggested scriptures: Psalm 27, Psalm 91, and Psalm 46.

May the Peace of God Be With You!
